Flexible Cancellations

Cancellation Policy

cancellation_policy policy
  • Cancellation initiated by the passenger: Czech Railways allows passengers to cancel their ticket before the departure. However, cancellation fees may apply depending on how far in advance the ticket is cancelled.
  • Cancellation fees: The cancellation fee is usually calculated as a percentage of the ticket price. The percentage increases as the departure date gets closer. For example, if you cancel your ticket more than 48 hours before departure, you may only lose 10% of the ticket price, but if you cancel less than 24 hours before departure, you may lose up to 50%.
  • Non-refundable tickets: Some tickets, such as promotional or discount tickets, may be non-refundable. Please check the terms and conditions of your ticket before purchase.
  • Online cancellations: Cancellations can typically be made online through the Czech Railways website or app. To cancel, you will need your booking reference and possibly other details of your travel.
  • Offline cancellations: It's also possible to cancel offline at one of Czech Railways' customer service locations. Be sure to bring your ticket and any other necessary documents.
  • Train cancellations: If Czech Railways cancels a train, passengers are usually entitled to a full refund, regardless of their ticket type. In some cases, Czech Railways may instead arrange alternative transport for passengers.
  • Delays: If a train is delayed, passengers may be eligible for compensation depending on the length of the delay and the conditions of the ticket.
  • Force Majeure: In the event of extraordinary circumstances outside the control of Czech Railways, such as adverse weather conditions or natural disasters, different cancellation policies may apply. Please check with Czech Railways for the exact terms in such cases.
