Excellent train station with air conditioning, free Wifi, and a beautiful observation deck with lounge chairs (see pictures). When you enter, it feels a little like Black Mesa Research Facility from the video game Half-Life. They have managed to fuse the rocky natural terrain with steel, glass, and cool air. There is even a robot who glides around the place, presumably keeping the floors clean. The result is a refuge from the heat, removed from the city of Aix-en-Provence, but in turn benefitting from a view of the beautiful Provence countryside, both within the station and on the observation deck, which is close enough to hear train announcements over the tannoy.
